Zipline and Uber have partnered to start drone delivery services in the US. Service is currently expected to begin by the end of the year. As part of this deal, Uber Eats customers will have the option to have their orders delivered via drone in areas where the company already currently operates. Uber's goal is to reduce delivery times to between 5 and 10 mins. Another goal is to have a capacity of one million drone deliveries per day by the end of 2029. This partnership is another example of both how drone delivery is no longer a dream, but a reality and how companies are rapidly partnering to expand the technology. Hopefully Zipline will continue to expand so more customers around the US will have access to drone delivery!
