Throughout the last few months, there have been many articles in the media and talk on social media regarding “mystery” drone sightings that at one point, seemed to be popping up all over the nation. This has caught the attention of people around the country, the FBI, and even the FAA, who even went as far as issuing flight restrictions over certain parts of New Jersey after a sharp rise in spottings. In November and December, many Americans went to social media to share what they saw as “mystery” drones in the sky. Many of these, however turned out to be manned aircraft that were mistaken for drones, due to the similar light colors emitted. So, what are these “mystery” drones? According to the FBI, most of these sightings were due to lawful drone users and even some law enforcement drones. The FBI has received about 5,000 complaints of drone sightings, but has only labeled less than 100 “credible”. When asked about the issue, President Donald Trump told Fox News’ Peter Doocy that he too wants to find the causes of these drones, and when he does, tell the American people.
