For the 4th of July, drone show company Sky Elements flew a drone show near Dallas, Texas, to celebrate America's 250th birthday. The show featured an astonishing 2,500 drones, including some attached with pyrotechnics. According to USA Today, the show included formations with Artemis II, Uncle Sam, George Washington, and a Bald Eagle. Sky Elements is currently the only FAA-approved company to use pyrotechnics in drone shows. Drone shows have grown in popularity over the past few years as an alternative to a fireworks show. Compared to fireworks, drones are significantly more eco-friendly. Drones are also not nearly as dangerous as shooting off a firework. Overall, I think that this is a great use of drones, and I hope that these shows can be implemented on a larger scale soon.
